We all love Mitch Kapor!
Well, not exactly, of course, but anyway: I greatly respect Mitch Kapor, and lots of other people agree with me.
That’s why there is so much about his recent Keynote at the fifth SL birthday event (SL5B):
- A new Torley Linden documentary on Mitch Kapor
(“… mighty Mitch Kapor went out of his way to insult current metaverse residents by implying they are socially inept outsiders soon to be swept away in a flood of “pragmatic” business, education, and non-profit players …”)

UgoTrade has a new great interview with Mitch Kapor (yes, THAT Mitch Kapor) about 3D interfaces for Second Life!
This is exciting, and Mitch says we’re gonna have them by Christmas 2009! Great!

Mitch Kapor (to understand who the man is: Mitch Kapor on Wikipedia) just presented a new promising technology, allowing people to move avatars, interact with objects, fly and run in the virtual world of Second Life.

In my opinion, mouse and keyboard will remain the main tool for years to come, but this kind of technology will open up new possibilities, expecially for virtual tours of simulated “real” places, or applications in which the user is supposed to interact with the environment using his body, rather than sitting in front of a PC.

Reuters announced some details about the upcoming World Economic Forum event (to take place in real Davos, Switzerland).
I’m more than happy to see that Philip Rosedale (Linden Lab’s founder), Tim O’Reilly, Mitch Kapor and Robert Scoble will be interviewed Inworld (this means: in Second Life), on 23rd and 24th january.
