Read this article about fashion, and how real world brands are behaving in Second Life, both looking at their initiatives, and the relations with other people (other fashion designers, mainly).
The problem, in my opinion, is the law.
Fashion is perfect for Second Life: fashion is not just about the product and the quality, it is mostly […]

Seems Superb, Showing SL Statistics, Seriously, Shy Softy Sophomores!
Ok, no more “S” words, I swear!
Linden Lab just released some nice graphs, showing interesting Second Life statistics.
What I infer is:
1. The Gambling Ban didn’t affect the growth rate;
2. Land mass is rapidly growing (so why reduce price, morons?)

[important disclaimer note: the term “fascist“, as in the geek/computer science world, means “doing something by authority, without respect for people’s rights” or “doing something in an extreme way”. It has no links with (and no reference to) real life fascisms of the 20th century]
It seems that Linden Lab will significantly cut land prices, to […]

Happy Easter, dear readers!!
Just a quick note: you may be interested in reading the exit interview of Philip Rosedale, ex-CEO of Linden Lab.
Long, but worth reading.
I’ll get back to my fantastic italian dinner here… I love Easter, it has strong “religious” meanings (for believers, and for non-believers like me), but I also love it for […]

This time they offer pack III, with 22 new tutorial videos.
Here you find the high quality versions of I, II and III release of videos.

Philip Rosedale (below I’m at Linden Lab’s HQ in last july 2007) is stepping down as CEO of Linden Lab.
Here’s what he has to say about that:
We’ve decided to search for a new CEO, and I wanted to briefly talk to everyone here […]

Great stuff from the Official Linden Blog: 13 new video tutorials for you.
I think that “documentation”, or other educational material (like tutorial videos), are one of the most important factors for the success of a technology (in this case, Second Life).
I always parallel it with Linux: when I was a Computer Science student in Perugia, […]

Good news: realXtend joins OpenSim.
I really hope OpenSim will eventually become an open standard for virtual worlds… and I also hope that Linden Lab will face this dilemma once and for all.

Meta Linden (you probably didn’t know that every Linden Lab employee has an avatar with “Linden” as last name) just published the key economic metrics of Second Life for January 2008.
He says that:
“Concurrency, usage hours, and total resident-owned land continue to grow at a steady pace, while our count of Premium users dropped slightly again […]
