How to earn some little money in SL, part 1

by sbrunozzi on October 4th, 2007

I think that the ONLY purpose of earning some hundreds of Linden Dollars (L$) to start buying things (like some rapper clothes, as pictured below) and paying other things, is that you experience how frustrating is the process, and you soon understand that you need to get smart, in order to go for the big bucks.

First, a fact: 270 L$ are equivalent to ONE US dollar. Remember this.

Rule #1: making money in SL is NOT easy.

There are many ways to earn some L$ in few minutes… camping, for example. “Camping” means that you sit somewhere (or just do something somewhere) and wait. After a certain time, usually ten minutes, you earn 5 L$, or 7L$ if you’ve chosen a good spot.
Why someone pays you to stay in a place? Because it’s a cheap way to increase the SIM’s traffic (SIM is an island, and is a short for “simulation”; the traffic is the number after the island’s name when you search in Places).
Now, tell me: if you sit there for one hour, how much can you earn? 50 L$? GREAT! You’ve spent one hour of your time, plus used your PC and your power for one hour, to get… 20 CENTS??
You got the point.
Camping is for fools.
