Marostica in Second Life!

by sbrunozzi on May 20th, 2008

Marostica is a small village in Veneto, the region leaded by Venezia, in which, since year 1454, the main square hosts a wonderful chess game, with real human figures, every even year.
What about the origin of this chess game? Two knights, Rinaldo d’Angarano and Vieri da Vallonara, both in love with Lionora, challenge each other in duel to decide which one can win her love.
The prince, father of Lionora, denied the match, and offered instead a chess game as a mean to clear the challenge. To make it better and nicer, the prince decided to invite the people, warriors and nights and fires and dances and music in the city square.

Italia Vera (an initiative of Gruppo Gnosys, an italian Second Life company for which I worked in the past) is proud to present the perfect reproduction of the city of Marostica in Second Life [Marostica's SLURL] on may 24th, 2008.

Don’t miss it, since they’ll host a spectacular final chess game on the main square!
And, by the way, my team built it :-)
