The site is http://secondlife.reuters.com and, as you have already guessed, it’s the SL-dedicated branch of the Reuters news agency.
Worth a look because it has useful and keen informations about the Second Life world, oriented at business and “serious” things.

Second Life IS for business, otherwise big corporations like Dell, for example, wouldn’t care to be there.
We always need to understand the advantages: for Dell, being in Second Life is a good marketing promo, a way to test a new technology (the 3D web, of course), and another way to contact customers and fulfill their needs.
If we talk about smaller businesses, it’s more difficult to justify a big investment, because some of the main advantages are not worth the expense (your unknown body shop in Edmonton doesn’t care if its name is marketed to asian Second Life visitors, for example).

Ok, last time you got a lesson:
Rule #1: making money in SL is NOT easy.
Now we go for Rule #2: use your time to learn SL well.
What does this mean? That, in your first days in Second Life, is much better to PAY some REAL dollars, and get a couple thousand Linden $, useful to go around, purchase some nice clothes, some skins, some hair, etcetera.

I think that the ONLY purpose of earning some hundreds of Linden Dollars (L$) to start buying things (like some rapper clothes, as pictured below) and paying other things, is that you experience how frustrating is the process, and you soon understand that you need to get smart, in order to go for the big bucks.
First, a fact: 270 L$ are equivalent to ONE US dollar. Remember this.

Do you know? Second Life is a business. It’s not a GOLD business for everyone, of course. But it IS a business, if you understand how it works.
I’n not talking about the desire to appear wealthier, or to own a Mustang like that one. I’m talking about a TOOL (Second Life is a tool, yes it is) that can be used, and sold both as a service and as a place.
